It Ends With Us – Colleen Hoover | Book Review

I finished It Ends With Us  with this strange feeling like something heavy was building up from the start… and I was kind of right.

I already read a lot of romance books, so I had this instinct that this story wasn’t going to stay soft and simple. And it didn’t.

Quick context 👇

The story follows Lily Bloom, who moves to Boston to start fresh and slowly gets involved with Ryle, a successful neurosurgeon who seems perfect at first. But as things move forward, her past and present start clashing in ways that get emotionally complicated.

My thoughts đź’

Honestly, I felt like Lily and Ryle’s relationship shouldn’t have happened the way it did… but it still did. And I just kept reading anyway.

The story starts like a normal romance, almost light in the beginning, and then slowly turns into something heavier. That shift is what kept me hooked.

Lily felt very real to me. Not perfect, not always easy to understand, but that’s what made her feel human. Some of her decisions were frustrating, but they also made sense in her situation.

The emotional weight of the story builds quietly, and by the end, it doesn’t really feel like a “romance” anymore. It feels more like a life lesson wrapped inside a love story.

Not perfect, but definitely impactful. It stays in your mind longer than you expect.
