  After finishing the Cat and Mouse Duet, I immediately picked up The Phantom , mainly because I needed more of Gigi and Ronaldo. And let me tell you, I was not disappointed. Getting to see their love story unfold after already knowing them from Haunting Adeline and Hunting Adeline made this book so much more special. I already loved them, but this book made me fall in love with them all over again. H.D. Carlton really took The Phantom of the Opera and transformed it into something dark, emotional, and absolutely beautiful. The gothic atmosphere was incredible, and I was obsessed from the very beginning. Ronaldo completely stole my heart. He was broken, protective, and willing to do anything for the woman he loved. And Gigi? I adored her. Their chemistry, their banter, their love... everything about them just worked. Knowing who they become in the Cat and Mouse Duet made some moments hit even harder. Frieda McFadden, you evil genius. I went into this book thinking I knew exactly where the story was heading. I was wrong. Very wrong. As usual. At this point, I should know better than to trust anything in a Frieda book, but somehow she gets me every single time. The beginning had me feeling so bad for Naomi. I was angry, confused, and fully ready to hate certain people. Then the twists started coming, and suddenly I was questioning everyone and everything. Every chapter made me say, "Okay, one more chapter," and before I knew it, half the book was gone. I swear, Frieda knows how to make me feel smart for five minutes before completely destroying my theories. Just when I thought I had figured it all out, she hit me with another reveal.   I finished Hunting Adeline and just sat there for a while. Not because I didn't know what to say. Because I had too many things to say. But that's also what made Adeline such an amazing character. She wasn't just surviving. She was fighting. Watching her refuse to break despite everything thrown at her made me admire her even more than I already did in the first book. The moment I finished it, I knew it would become one of my all-time favorites. The atmosphere alone had me hooked.
