I already loved them, but this book made me fall in love with them all over again. H.D. Carlton really took The Phantom of the Opera and transformed it into something dark, emotional, and absolutely beautiful. The gothic atmosphere was incredible, and I was obsessed from the very beginning. Ronaldo completely stole my heart. He was broken, protective, and willing to do anything for the woman he loved. Frieda McFadden, you evil genius. I went into this book thinking I knew exactly where the story was heading. I was wrong. Very wrong. As usual. At this point, I should know better than to trust anything in a Frieda book, but somehow she gets me every single time. The beginning had me feeling so bad for Naomi. I was angry, confused, and fully ready to hate certain people. Then the twists started coming, and suddenly I was questioning everyone and everything.
