BOOKISH CASTLE

Frieda McFadden, you evil genius. I went into this book thinking I knew exactly where the story was heading. I was wrong. Very wrong. As usual. At this point, I should know better than to trust anything in a Frieda book, but somehow she gets me every single time. The beginning had me feeling so bad for Naomi. I was angry, confused, and fully ready to hate certain people. Then the twists started coming, and suddenly I was questioning everyone and everything. Every chapter made me say, "Okay, one more chapter," and before I knew it, half the book was gone. I swear, Frieda knows how to make me feel smart for five minutes before completely destroying my theories. Just when I thought I had figured it all out, she hit me with another reveal. And then another. And somehow, THAT ending still managed to surprise me. This book had me hooked from start to finish. The pacing was perfect, the suspense kept me turning pages, and the twists were absolutely insane. I couldn't put it down...
