Some books whisper, some books scream, and Hidden spends most of its pages dramatically flapping angel wings while throwing romance and destiny at your face. Humans really do love complicated supernatural love lives. 

📖 What's it about?

Ebony has lived a sheltered life in a secluded valley with her overly protective parents. Strange things are happening to her. She's stronger, different, and there's clearly a giant secret everyone forgot to mention. Then she meets Jordan, a troubled boy with a painful past, and suddenly her world explodes into angels, ancient bonds, and heavenly drama. Turns out being an ordinary teenager wasn't on the universe's schedule.

💭 My Thoughts

Hidden has that classic early-2010s YA paranormal vibe. Think mysterious boys, destined love, supernatural secrets, and enough angst to power an entire Netflix series.

I enjoyed the mystery surrounding Ebony and the world of Avena. The angel mythology was interesting and gave the story a unique feel. Jordan was definitely my favorite character. His backstory made him much more compelling, and I found myself more invested in him than in the romance itself.

Speaking of romance… there's insta-love. Lots of it. If you're allergic to love triangles, prepare yourself because this book happily jumps into one without hesitation. Some characters and plot twists felt predictable, and Ebony occasionally made choices that had me staring at the page like, "Girl, please." 😭

Still, Marianne Curley's writing kept the pages turning, and the ending leaves enough unanswered questions to make you curious about the sequel.

Hidden feels like a nostalgic mix of Twilight, fallen angels, and classic YA paranormal romance. It isn't Marianne Curley's strongest work, but if you enjoy mysterious boys, heavenly secrets, and dramatic destiny-filled romance, you'll probably have fun with this one.

  I finished Hunting Adeline and just sat there for a while. Not because I didn't know what to say. Because I had too many things to say. After loving Haunting Adeline , I went into this book expecting darkness, suspense, and obsession. What I wasn't prepared for was the emotional rollercoaster that H.D. Carlton had waiting for me.
